Wanda was born December 22, 1924 in Mt. Vernon, IL, the daughter of George Lee and Stella Fern (Edmison) Beck. She attended Mt. Vernon High School where she met the love of her life, Robert Squire Bond Webb. Wanda was a good student and excelled in athletics at the state level. She married Squire in Mt. Vernon on October 14, 1945 upon his return from World War II Army Air Corps service. They felt God blessed their 72 years of marriage. As a young wife, Wanda held clerical positions at Illinois Power Company in Mt. Vernon, and then, worked for the University of Illinois Testing Service while Squire completed his engineering degree at the university.

Wanda was a devoted and loving mother who encouraged her children to pursue their goals and dreams. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a Granny and Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wanda loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with family was important to her. Her family and friends knew her as a wonderful wife, mother and a friend to all. Wanda was a member of Central Christian Church for 65 years, where she faithfully served as a Deacon, Cradle Roll Chair and a youth leader. She was honored in 2005 as Deacon Emeriti. Wanda was a faithful volunteer in the Decatur Public Schools, supporting her childrens classrooms, chairing committee work and supporting athletics. She also volunteered her time with the Girl Scout and Boy Scout organizations.

Wanda was member of the Decatur Quilt Guild and was especially skilled in appliqué work, piecing and stitching many quilts with love. She and Squire liked to travel, took many tours and enjoyed camping all over the USA. They always looked forward to Michigans Ludington State Park camping vacations. Wandas home, and her spirit, were the anchor for her family. She will be greatly missed.
