Velma F. Hoffman, 78, of Texico, Illinois passed away at 10:56 A.M. Monday, September 5, 2016 at Residential Living Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born Friday, September 17, 1937 in Harviell, Missouri to parents, Virgil and Marie (Chatman) Crunk. She married David Hoffman and he preceded her in death in 1991.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Rev. Randy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery in Texico, Illinois.
A Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M to Service Time 2:30 P.M. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Velma is survived by her two sons: Marvin Eller, Jr. and wife Tami of Centralia, Illinois and Mark Hoffman of Dix, Illinois, four grandchildren: Jenny Campbell and husband Michael of Anderson, South Carolina; Chester Eller and wife Tonya of Divide, Illinois; Becky Summers and husband Lee of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and Elisabeth Angus and husband Mark of Waltonville, Illinois, nine great grandchildren: Anthony; Janessa; Dawson; Sarah; Gavin; Cade; Adalyn; Brant; and Jaden, sister: Helen Cooper and husband Tom of Mount Vernon, Illinois, two step-grandchildren: Jessica Showen and friend Anthony Crossland of Edwardsville, Illinois and Emily Withrow and husband Landon of Keenes, Illinois, and two step-great grandchildren: Ethni and Lawson.
Her parents, husband, and siblings: Johnny Crunk; Edna Ellis; Bob Crunk; Thelma Davis; and Virgil Crunk, Jr. preceded her in death.
Velma worked at Mode-O-Day Dress Factory for many years, then later as a caregiver for Addus Healthcare.
For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Union Chapel Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mount Vernon, Illinois 62864.
