Robert "Bob"'s Story
Robert Bob Lewis Marshall, Sr., 73, of Waltonville, Illinois passed away at 7:50 A.M. Thursday, October 6, 2016 at his home in Waltonville, Illinois. He was born Tuesday, March 2, 1943 in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee to parents, Henry B. & Maxine (Medley) Marshall. He married Phyllis Ann Marshall on May 25, 1991 in Woodlawn, Illinois and she preceded him in death on December 18, 2015.
A Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until Service Time: 1:00 P.M. Sunday October 9, 2016 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Hughey Funeral Home with Mr. Tracy Thomas officiating. Per his request, Mr. Marshall will be cremated following the Service.
Robert Lewis Marshall, Sr. is survived by his former wife: Linda Hood of Waltonville, Illinois, 2 sons: Robert Lewis Marshall, Jr. and wife Tracy of Creal Springs, Illinois, and Danny Wooden and wife Rhonda of Mount Vernon, Illinois, 2 daughters: Janice Kissner and husband Rich of California and Carla Stewart and husband Randy of Mount Vernon, Illinois, grandchildren: Mathew Marshall, Allison Marshall, Nathaniel Marshall, Collin Marshall, Adam Gill, Brandon Gill, Tony Duran , Jessica Duran, Tinisha Olson, Ryan Stewart, Kendra Bailey, and Kendra Rynski, great grandchildren: Jacob, Anthony, Braxton, Morgan, Ryley, Carter, Gracie, Race, River, and Rain, 1 brother: Henry Marshall, Jr. and wife Brenda of Waltonville, Illinois, several nieces and nephews, and numerous other family members. Other lifelong friends including: Wayne and Joyce Lovett, and Gary and Lisa Basham also survive.
His parents, wife: Phyllis Marshall, sister: Wanda Lindsey, and son: Billy Wooden preceded him in death.
Mr. Marshall served in the United States Army. He worked as a supervisor at Caterpillar in Joliet, Illinois and enjoyed fishing, bowling, was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and was a true craftsman of building clocks.
For those who wish, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mount Vernon, Illinois 62864.
