Melody True, 67, of Woodlawn, Illinois passed away at 4:00 P.M. September 16, 2017 at her residence in Woodlawn, Illinois. She was born February 6, 1950 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Wendell Paul & Zelma (Harpole) Warren. She married Mike True in January of 1997 in Mount Vernon, Illinois and he survives.
Along with her husband Mike True of Woodlawn, Illinois, Melody is surved by her son, Gabriel Meador and wife, Brittany of Woodlawn, Illinois; granddaughter, Ryleigh Jeanne Meador; step-daughter, Stacey Hall and husband, Mike of Fort Myers, Florida; sister, Linda Kimmel of Mount Vernon, Illinois; two grandsons, Evan True and Alex Hall; stepmother, Martha Warren of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Capps; and step-son, Chad True.
Melody worked for the Bank of Illinois for nearly 29 years as a loan officer and Vice President before retiring. She later worked for SouthPointe/MidCountry Bank where she was a mortgage loan officer for 7 years, then worked at Peoples National Bank retiring in 2014 after 6 years as Vice President and a relationship specialist. Mrs. True attended Central Christian Church, was active in the American Cancer Societys Relay for Life, the Jefferson County Crime Stoppers Board of Directors, the Amy Schulz Child Advocacy Center Board of Directors, and the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, traveling to various beaches, boating, and being involved in boating fun-runs for charity. Melody will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
