Lloyd Johnson, 75, of Clermont, FL, formerly of Mt. Vernon, IL, slipped the confines of his earthly body on September 5th, 2017, to receive his heavenly rewards, which we know are many.
He was born on January 12, 1942 in West Frankfort, IL, the son of William and Edith (Cox) Johnson. In 1988, he married the love of his life, Judy Burton, who remains. In addition to his wife, Mr. Johnson is survived by three daughters: Micah Johnson of Clermont, FL; Theresa Thomas of Lexington, KY; and Sydnee Crain of Springfield, MO; One son: Tim Burton, of Clermont, FL; Grandchildren include Nicholas Willard, Malachi Willard, Madison Willard, Devin Burton, Jorden Burton, Hillary Cope, Jared Dudley and Kristen Harloff. Mr. Johnson is also survived by several great-grandchildren, two sisters: Greta and husband Robert Calvin and Mona Knox; two brothers: Jerry and wife Sharon Johnson, Richard and wife Joyce Johnson; one sister-in-law: Beverly Johnson; one brother-in-law: John Fanning; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Genevieve Fanning and Shirley Elliston; one brother: Bill Johnson; two brothers-in-law: Sonnie Knox and Abe Elliston.
He retired from McDonnell Douglas, where he worked as an engineer, and attended Central Christian Church before moving to Florida.
Mr. Johnson loved the Lord and spending time with family. He enjoyed the simple life: Fishing, messing with his tools, having and causing a good laugh. He loved LIFE, and celebrated it every day in his own quiet, unassuming way, making all around him feel important and unconditionally cared for. He will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation for Mr. Johnson will be Sunday, September 10th, from 12:00-2:00 pm, with service immediately following, at the chapel located at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, IL.
