Lillian Pearl Punky Clark, 86, of Woodlawn, Illinois passed away at 10:45 P.M. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born Monday, September 15, 1930 in Jefferson County, Illinois to parents, Ray Lou & Nora Fay (Piercy) Champ. She married Francis Hendricks Jeep Clark on August 2, 1950 in Mount Vernon, Illinois and he preceded her in death on January 14, 1995.
A Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time, 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Mr. Rick Champ and Mr. Tim Champ officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
Punky is survived by 3 daughters, Gayla Klingler and husband, Marlin of Waltonville, Illinois, Martha Will and husband, Larry of Columbus, Nebraska, and Carla Hamilton of Woodlawn, Illinois; son, Perry Clark of Florida; 5 grandchildren, Brian, Melissa, Megan, Audrey, and Brooke; 9 great grandchildren; and sister, Fayelda May Fiz Elliston of Mount Vernon, Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 3 brothers.
Punky was a member of the Christian Church of Woodlawn. She loved her flowers and yard work. She was very proud of her yard. She was the former mayor of Woodlawn and drove the Woodlawn grade school bus for 31 years. She was also the owner and operator of Clarks Sundries in Woodlawn for several years. She was a very avid sports fan including St. Louis and Woodlawn Cardinals.
