Delores "Dee" (Sinks) Morgan, 84, of Springfield, passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Dee was born on June 14, 1932 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of William R. and Nellie Mae Weber Sinks. She married Charles M. Morgan on April 15, 1949 in Mt. Vernon.
Dee was employed with St. John's as a CNA for 31 years before retirement. She was a determined person who loved her dog, gardening, collecting porcelain dolls, the outdoors, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Luanne Sinks; brothers, Clyde, Vern, Jimmie Gale, and Melvin Leo Sinks; and one grandson, Charles Melvin Morgan II.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles "Red" Morgan of Springfield; three sons, Melvin Lynn (wife, Margie) Morgan of Atterberry, Jimmie Eugene (wife, Doretta) Morgan of Springfield; and Danny Dwane (wife, Kathy) Morgan of Middletown; one daughter, Karen Renee (husband, Dale) Milner of Springfield; sixteen grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Sinks of Mt. Vernon; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Buddy.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with her nephew, Pastor Les Sinks, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
