Clarence Wayne Staats, 63, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 5:45 P.M. September 12, 2017 at his residence in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born November 23, 1953 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Dysart Turner & Irene Virginia (Coberly) Staats. He first married Pamela Johnson on December 29, 1973 and she survives. He then married Providencia Gonzalez on February 26, 2011 and she survives.
Along with his wife, Clarence Wayne Staats is survived by his children, Brian Staats and fiancé, Jessica Priddy of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Jason Staats and wife, Mollie of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Brandi Staats and Wade Heil of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Mindy Parrish and husband, Michael of Ina, Illinois; grandchildren, Tyler Staats, Tiffany Staats, Jacob Staats, Andrew Staats, Isaac Staats, Cameron Staats, and one on the way, Declan Staats, Elijah Staats, Daniel Staats, Silas Staats, Chelsea Heil, Wade Heil Jr., Rylan Yon, Josephina Parrish, and Emma Staats; great-grandchild, Catalina Confer; 2 brothers, Frank Staats and wife, Pam of Ina, Illinois and Wallace Staats and wife, Stacey of Belle Rive, Illinois; step-children, Luis Serna, Michael Serna, Jeanette Serna and husband, Travis Taylor, Edwin Rodriguez and wife, Pam, David Rodriguez, Jasmine Gonzalez, and Adrian Gonzalez; step-grandchildren, Amani Williams, Nylaa Williams, Amya Williams, Gzhante Tucker, Kaily Serna, Luis Lemasters, Justin Lemasters, Zachariah Lemasters, Taliya Taylor, Sylus Serna, Corrina Serna, Luis Serna, Nathan Gonzalez, Mahlik Turner, Jhyson Allain, Myloh Allain, and Nova Davis; step-great-grandchild, Jazlyn Williams; and his beloved dog, Chi Chi.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and brother, Jerry Staats.
Clarence worked at General Tire in maintenance for over 30 years and was of the Pentecostal faith. He loved to pick the guitar and was well-liked by everyone. He will be missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
Visitation: 5:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 15, 2017 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Funeral Service: A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Septebmer 16, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois at with Henrietta Dunavan officiating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
