Betty Jackson, 57, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 10:38 A.M. February 27, 2017 at her residence in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born June 29, 1959 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to parents, Roy Lee and Loretta Jean (Murphy) Linville. She married Carl Jackson on July 3, 1976 at Casey Avenue Baptist Church. They were blessed with 40 years of marriage

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Interment will follow at Opdyke Cemetery in Opdyke, Illinois.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

Betty is survived by her husband, Carl Jackson of Mount Vernon, Illinois; children, Starla Gregory and husband, Brandon of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Carl Jackson, Jr. and wife, Tammy of West Frankfort, Illinois, Amber Jackson and fiancè, Matt of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and Brian Jackson and fiancè, Courtney of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Ashley Nichole, Sara Jean, Peter Felix, Patience Historia, and Pepper Olivia; brothers, Don Linville and wife, Sachiko of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Terry Linville of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Lee Roy Linville of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and Bob Linville of Mount Vernon, Illinois; step-sisters, Sandy McDowell of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Mary Jones of Opdyke, Illinois; and aunt, Paula Linville of Glen Carbon, Illinois. Betty is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Oliver Jackson; brother, Jerry Linville; sister, Patty Costley; uncle, Wayne Linville; and great-niece, Sidney Brazil.

Betty enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, reading the newspaper, and collecting bear figurines. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Betty was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
