William "Billy"'s Story
William "Billy" H. Bremen Jr.,52, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, born on February 8, 1965 in Belleville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2017 in the Butterfly Wing at The Hospice of Baton Rouge surrounded by family after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer.
Billy was a 1985 graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School, Mt. Vernon, IL. He was a member of First Christian Church, Belleville, IL. He attended several workshops including Comprehensive Services, Mt. Vernon, IL, SAVE, Belleville, IL, Challenge Unlimited and Community Link both of Fairview Heights, IL. He was a member of Tri Cities Area Association for the Handicapped of Granite City, IL and enjoyed bowling with this group.
Billy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Margaret Bremen; maternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Kelly; uncle, Johnny Bremen; aunt, Mary Lou Stapley; and younger brother, Eric Bremen.
Billy is survived by his father and mother, William and Patricia, nee Kelly, Bremen Sr.; sisters Kelly (Thomas) Williams of Mt. Vernon, IL, Gretchen (Shane) Morgan of Denham Springs, LA, and Lela Bremen of Ocean Springs, MS; two nieces, Corie (Timothy) Boyd of Mt. Vernon, IL, and Gracie Morgan of Denham Springs, LA; seven nephews, Taylor and Cole Williams of Mt. Vernon, IL, Noah and Jonah Morgan of Denham Springs, LA, Jeffery and Vincent Bremen of Santa Rosa, CA, and Aiden Bremen of Ocean Springs, MS; three great-nieces, Thai, Karma, and Tee'gan Boyd of Mt. Vernon, IL; uncle, Robert Kelly of Upper Lake, CA; aunt, Jacqueline, nee Kelly, Jones of St. Louis, MO; and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at First Christian Church, 5929 Old St. Louis Road, Belleville, IL, with the Rev. Doug Hargrave officiating.
A private burial will be held at St. John's Cemetery, Collinsville, IL
