Thelma Lemay Price, 97, of Madison, Tennessee passed away at 11:40 A.M., Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born Sunday, May 11, 1919 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to parents, Charles and Gertrude (Denny) Lemay. She married Harold Elmer Price on April 8, 1938. They were married for nearly 76 years before he passed on March 26, 2014.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Jeremy Hamson officiating. Interment will follow at Union Chapel in Texico, Illinois.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Thelma is survived by her son, James Price of Nashville, Tennessee; two daughters, Judith Calhoun of Anchorage, Alaska and Jean Henderson and her husband, John of Portland, Oregon; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Frank Lemay of Nashville, Tennessee. Thelma is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents; her granddaughter, Judith Melody; her brothers, Chalon, Earl, Pete, Everett, and James; and her sisters, Edith Schrum, Betty Tobin, and Edna Greer-Walker.
Thelma was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Paducah, Kentucky. In her spare time, she enjoyed making quilts, sewing, gardening, and doing craftwork. She made sure each one of her children and grandchildren got a handmade quilt from her. Thelma enjoyed helping people, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
