Shirley Ann (Stanford) Keele, 80, of Oglesby, IL, died Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Heritage Healthcare Center in Peru.
At her request her body is being donated for research. There will be no services at this time. A private memorial will be held at a later date. After the research is complete, burial of cremated remains will be in Zion Grove Cemetery, Marion County, Illinois next to her sons.
Mrs. Keele was born February 17, 1937, in rural Earlville, IL, the daughter of Earl and Lourania (Hill) Stanford.
She attended Somonauk schools. She worked in various factories in Sandwich, Earlville, Mendota and LaSalle. She worked many years as a waitress at the Four Star Restaurant in LaSalle and ended her career as an aide for Angels Home Health Care.
She is survived by one son, Don E. Keele of Lavaca, AR; grandchildren, Clara Keele and Donavon Keele and great-grandson, Calliou Keele all of Peru; a sister, Mavis Wesson of Rochelle; daughter and granddaughter in her heart, Kristen and Zoe Manley of Peru and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, David and Edwin Keele and Ace Davis and five sisters, Margaret Keele, Martha Koch, Matilda Stanford, Mary Lundborg and June Warren.
