Robert "Catfish" Harbor, 79, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 8:45 A.M. Friday, December 23, 2016 at his residence in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born Monday, June 14, 1937 in Cairo, Illinois to parents, Cules and Blance (McDonald) Harbor.
A memorial service will be held at Christian Fellowship Church at a later date.
There will be no visitation held.
Robert is survived by his wife, Valadia Val Harbor of Mount Vernon, Illinois; children, Johnny, Robert Little Fish, Jr., Katina, Armond, Cashjuan, Zayveance, Roberta, Cameal, and Benita. Robert is also survived by a host of grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by sons, Glenn and Charles; brothers, Jesse and Cules, Jr.; sister, Benita; and nephew, Michael.
Robert loved fishing, crawfish, and playing cards and the lottery. He enjoyed helping out at the food pantry on South 10th and teaching people how to make delicious BBQ. Catfish worked in construction and helped build Rome Meadow Apartments in Dix, Illinois and Big Muddy Correctional Center in Ina, Illinois. Robert was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
