Mary Kathaleen Wiley, 79, of Centralia, Illinois passed away at 5:10 A.M. July 8, 2017 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, Illinois. She was born October 27, 1937 in Burnsville, Mississippi to parents, Francis David & Luna Pearl (Harris) Malcolm. She married Eugene DuBoise Wiley on July 21, 2001 in Centralia, Illinois.
Mary is survived by her husband, Eugene Wiley of Centralia, Illinois; son, Rodney Pengelley and wife Debra (Stevens) of Waukesha, Wisconsin; granddaughter, Andrea Reinfeldt and husband Greg of Waukesha, Wisconsin; grandson, Courtney Pengelley of Waukesha, Wisconsin; and great grandchildren, Cordelia, Cole, and Callum Reinfeldt of Waukesha, Wisconsin; step-son, Cecil Wiley of Hattisburg, Mississippi; step-daughter, Susan Talton of Worden, Illinois; and sister, Darleen Malcom of Scottsdale, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Stanley T. Pengelley.
Mrs. Wiley proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Centralia, Southern Illinois MENSA, and enjoyed genealogy. She graduated from Mount Vernon Township High School in 1955. She married Stanley Joseph Pengelley on May 6, 1956 at Wichita Falls, Texas and they were later divorced. She attended Southern Illinois University where she earned a Master of Social Work Degree and worked for many years for Illinois Department of Children and Family Services until she retired.
Visitation: 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, July 10, 2017 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois and 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 11, 29017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Centralia, Illinois.
Funeral Service: 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Centralia, Illinois officiated by Steven Waggoner.
Interment: Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Members of the Mount Vernon American Legion Post #141 will conduct Full Military Honors at the cemetery.
