Jared Lowery, 27, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away May 2, 2017 at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born December 20, 1989.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Mr. Randy Sells officiating. Interment will follow at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville, Illinois.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Jared is survived by his wife, Sarah Lowery of Mount Vernon, Illinois; daughters, Tamrah Lowery and Lauren Lowery, both of Mount Vernon, Illinois; parents, Denzil and Linda Lowery, Jr.; birth parents, Sheila Steele and husband, Troy of Minnesota and John Kapaun of Minnesota; siblings, Patricia Verdeyen and husband, Matt of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Alyssa Kapaun of Minnesota, Brandon Steele of Minnesota, Jacob Kapaun of Minnesota, Zechariah Livingston of Minnesota, and Matthew Steele of Minnesota; brith grandparents, Dave and Cindy Anderson of Minnesota and Randy and Susan Kapaun of Minnesota; father and mother-in-law, Marty and Tina Fairchild of Waltonville, Illinois and Marilee and John Clark of Ewing, Illinois; siblings-in-law, Eli Fairchild of Ewing, Illinois, Josh Ellis and wife, Fallon of Waltonville, Illinois, and Tabatha Kirkpatrick and husband, Tony of Woodlawn, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Kinzlie Verdeyen, Sebastian Fairchild, Zaylia Kirkpatrick, Laken Kirkpatrick, Remington Ellis, and Brynlee Ellis; and close friends, Lucas and Dana Beaty and their children, Wyatt, Caleb, and Cheyenne. Jared is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jared was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jake and Wilma Shafer and Denzil and Priscilia Lowery, Sr.; aunt, Barbara Body and husband, Richard; and uncles, Tom Kapaun and Charlie Powell.
Jared married Sarah Fairchild on July 20, 2008. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when he was hunting and fishing. Jared was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. One of his greatest joys was playing softball with his daughters. Jared was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
