James H. "Jim" Blair, 70, of Woodlawn, Illinois passed away at 9:17 p.m. on June 21, 2017, at his residence. He was born November 21, 1946, in Anna, Illinois.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Connie K. (Harre) Blair of Woodlawn, Illinois; brother, Kenneth William Blair and wife, Jeannine of Centralia, Illinois; siblings-in-law, Geri Harre of Yorba Linda, California, Lois Obermeier and husband, Leonard of Okawville, Illinois, Don Harre and wife, Gerry of Okawville, Illinois, Ruth Harre of Okawville, Illinois, and Betty Hasheider and husband, Norbert of Okawville, Illinois; nephews and nieces, W. Wylie Blair and wife, Kristy of Saint Louis, Missouri, Lisha Altair of Wasilla, Alaska, Julia Harre of Portland, Maine, Jane Harre of Rohnert Park, California, Bryan Harre and wife, Karla of Oxnard, California, Deb Harre of Newport Beach, California, Nancy Peterson and husband, Brian of Barrington, Illinois, Jill Hobart of Barrington, Illinois, Jeff Obermeier and wife, Laura of Okawville, Illinois, Pam Wienstroer and husband, Keith of Okawville, Illinois, Jason Obermeier and wife, Dana of Okawville, Illinois, Scott Harre and wife, Kelly of Bartelso, Illinois, Stacy Bartling and husband, Nathan of Nashville, Illinois, Nathan Harre and wife, Jessica of Chicago, Illinois, Greg Harre and wife, Tara of Okawville, Illinois, Dannon Harre and wife, Jill of Okawville, Illinois, Kristen Miller and husband, Dan of Collinsville, Illinois, Nicole Heberer and husband, Justin of Okawville, Illinois, Michelle Burianek and husband, Jason of Okawville, Illinois, Matt Hasheider and wife, Crystal of Nashville, Illinois, Kelly Schumacher and husband, Tim of Aviston, Illinois, and Kate Glynn and husband, Joe of Aviston, Illinois; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Wylie and Alice Adelia DeeDee (Lamer) Blair; father and mother-in-law, Henry and Verdell Harre; brothers-in-law, Ken Harre and Duane Harre; and great-nephews, Brenden Bartling and Brody Miller.
Jim taught English at Mount Vernon Township High School for 35 years. He enjoyed reading and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Jim was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Per his wishes, a private graveside service will be held for Jim at Anna Cemetery on Monday, June 26, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Timothy P Mueller of St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Covington, Illinois, officiating.
Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association-Greater Saint Louis Chapter or to the Anna Chapter of Pets Are Worth Saving (PAWS) Humane Society or to the donors choice.
