Donald L. Willmore, 65, of Bonnie, Illinois passed away at 12:26 P.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born Friday, October 26, 1951 in Jefferson County, Illinois to parents, Francis and Georgiana (Frederick) Willmore. He first married Debbie Minier on February 14, 1981 in Benton, Illinois. He later married Kathleen Kirk on June 9, 2000 in his home in Bonnie, Illinois.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 30, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Merle Fullerton and Reverend David Schlag officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Donald is survived by his wife, Kathleen Willmore of Bonnie, Illinois; children, Clinton Willmore and wife, Susan of Bonnie, Illinois, Kyle Willmore of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Karen Willmore of Bonnie, Illinois, and Kelley Willmore of Mount Vernon, Illinois; stepdaughters, Jana Cox of Chicago, Illinois and Gretchen Pool and husband, Charles of Sesser, Illinois; and his first wife, Debbie Minier. Donald is also survived by many cousins.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and aunt, Ivy Willmore.
Donald served his country in the Illinois National Guard. He was a member of West Side Baptist Church and Ducks Unlimited and a past member of Jefferson County Masonic Lodge. He retired after 16 years at Walgreens Distribution Center. Donald was an avid outdoorsman and Chicago Cubs fan. He was so proud to see the Cubs win the World Series. Donalds greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
